Exhibitions

This month I’ve been pretty busy with work and so it’s been great to be able to do shows just to break things up a little bit.

I’m part of ‘House of Tigers’ exhibition at A-Side B-Side Gallery! Super stoked to be part of an awesome show for a great cause, Save Wild Tigers, as well.

The private view will be on Thursday 22nd October and the show will run from the 22nd until the 27th.

More about the show:

House of Tigers- A group exhibition

Curated by Adam Bartlett

Public View: Thursday 22nd October 6-9.30pm

Show Dates: 23-10-2015 – 26-10-2015

A-side B-side Gallery is pleased to present, ‘House of Tigers’ an exhibition curated by Adam Bartlett:

“The show came about through my love of tigers and painting them.  I thought it would be great to raise some money for our stripy friends, curate my first show and provide a platform for many artists who don’t get to show their work out much due to full time jobs etc.  Kind of bringing everyone great and small together, the emphasis is on fun with this show and getting involved in any way you can.”

Evening all! Hope you’re all well and enjoying the first week of a new month. Very happy to announce that I’ll be part of a pop-up show, organised by my friend Chrissy,  called ‘Covet’ at The Hackney Shop on Morning Lane. I’ll be selling cards, prints and postcards during the pop-up show.

Come along to the PV on Tuesday 6th from 6-9pm and say hello to us! More details about the event can be found on the Facebook Events Page.

Double whammy of exhibitions this month and the previous month! Having finished ‘Into the Sun’ exhibition, ‘The Story So Far’ followed on from it pretty much the following day! Last night I went by to pick up my work and I can’t believe it’s over!

Here’s a bit of a blurb about my piece for the exhibition:

My work for the exhibition explores an ancient folklore that resonates with some East Asian countries, all of which sees the fox spirit as cunning, conniving, and a magical creature that has the power to trick the human mind whilst being able to shape shift into a human form.

I was particular drawn to the similarities that the motif transcends from one culture to another. I wanted to depict the fox spirit as something almost quite majestic, alluring, and mythical.

I didn’t attend the private view as I was working late that evening- sad face here- but I have asked the organisers if I could include some photos from the night. Here are a few photos of the Private View, courtesy of ‘The Story So Far’ Facebook group:

‘Fox Spirit’ will be up for sale in my Etsy shop pretty soon so I’ll do a shout out when the listing is up.

Hello! I hope you’ve all been enjoying the sun and the glorious weather that we’ve been having over the past couple of days. I’ve had a rather hectic few days what with the run up to the show and another show I’m taking part in, which starts on the 1st July at W3 Gallery in Acton (more on that later in the week).

I have to say that the group exhibition ‘Into The Sun’ at A-side B-side Gallery has been really successful especially the private view. Sadly, I didn’t take any photos that night but I have managed to take some photos today when I was invigilating the show.

Firstly, here are my pieces for the show: ‘Luna’ and ‘Sol’.

Whilst I was invigilating, I got the chance to speak to people about the show and my work as well. It was great to be able to connect with others about my interpretation of the theme itself. I think Ivy has done a fantastic job on curating the show and putting together the show so I’d just like to say a big fat thank you to Ivy for all of her hard work! I love the space too; light, airy and it’s not too big and not too small either.

The show is running until Tuesday 30th so get yourselves down to the gallery if you’ve still not seen it!

In my previous post I mentioned that I’ll be exhibiting two new pieces of work for ‘Into The Sun’ exhibition at A-side B-side Gallery, Hackney Downs Studio.

I have another exhibition coming up on the 1st July, and that is an exhibition revolved around the idea of myths, legends, folklore tales and imaginary creatures. W3 Gallery are hosting an exhibition called ‘A Story So Far’, which I am super happy to be part of. But not only that, they are using my piece ‘Fox Spirit’ for their promotional materials too!

The exhibition will be running from 1st – 21st July and for more details about the gallery please visit their website at http://www.w3gallery.org.uk/. Free entry to the gallery as well!
