Hello folks! How’s your week been? I’ve been eating quite a lot of chocolate eggs for breakfast (well, it has to be done, right?). I’m planning on going back to Doncaster for a couple of days and then for the rest of the Easter break I’ll probably be cracking on updating my website and doing more odd jobs around the house, which seems like a never ending cycle 🙁

In other rather exciting news, I’ve added lots of new pocket mirrors in my Etsy shop- yay! All new designs in time for spring as well.

Thanks for reading folks, as always, and enjoy the Easter Bank holiday!

Good evening folks! How are you all? I hope your week has been a good one- yay for that weekend feeling too!

I’m really happy to say that for Etsy’s International Women’s Day  they’ve selected one of my prints to feature alongside other sellers, that is, celebrating all things handmade by creative women in business. I couldn’t be anymore happier than to be part of something inspirational; I made that print for myself as I was in a bad patch a while back. That quote, for me, made me realise that I’m in control of my own life and whatever I’m doing I should be free and happy to make those choices. The pursuit of happiness and satisfaction with the way I think and feel is something I’ve been working on for a very long time. Some days it’s a struggle, but other days I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Do you ever get that feeling where sometimes you feel like you’ve lost control of everything? It’s not a very nice feeling I have to say! I’ve found by talking about my feelings to close friends it’s helped a lot to get over those overwhelming feelings. Put it this way, we are all part of something very big- like- we’re the stars in the night sky all connected to one another in one way or another. And when I think like that it puts things into perspective; take each day as it goes and build up on your strengths.

There’s obviously still loads more progress that needs to be made even in this day and age (meaning global changes) in terms of the economic inequalities such as pay, the verbal and online abuse women face because of their job title particularly women politicians (see Stylist’s article about this), and the constant objectification of women in the media. Let’s all come together and give a massive shout out to all the women and girls out their making their dreams and ambitions come true. Strength in numbers I say!

Here’s to the future: the future is female. Now let’s smash that bastard glass ceiling to the ground.

Hello folks… can you see where I’m going with this?! I’m super pleased to announce that I’ve finally opened a Folksy shop! I’ve been meaning to do this for over a year now, but I never got round to it. Anyway, I thought I would give it a bash and see how it goes. Obviously I’m having to navigate my way round it as I’m going and it’s hard not to compare it with Etsy as the two user interfaces are completely different. I’m always up for trying out new things- it’s the best way to learn too.

I’ll be updating more products as I’m going, hopefully within the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned and support handmade local businesses!

Are you on Folksy? Are there any advice you could give to a newbie who’s just joined Folksy? What do you think of it? I look forward to reading your comments below.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hello dear readers! How’s the start to your week been? It’s been a bit chilly though, right? Even though it’s been oh so very cold when the sun comes out though there’s that lovely warm feeling, even if it’s just for a split second. The air felt really crisp and fresh- I actually love it when it’s like this. In saying that, the transport in London literally freezes (there I said it) to a halt… and it makes commuting such a wonderful journey. I could go on about the trains but I’m going to have to bite my tongue as I’ll go off in a tangent!

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been working hard at my presentation for Doncaster Central Learning Centre; I’ll be hosting an Etsy training workshop sometime in the next couple of months and I’m really excited about it. It’ll be my first training workshop as well so I’ve been planning and prepping a slide which I’ll be presenting to the attendees. I’ll post more about it once it comes closer to the date.

This post rounds up with some gift ideas for Mother’s Day, since it’s only round the corner (next week!).

From top left to right: You’re the Best Card, Swan Postcard, Little Blue Bird Pocket Mirror, Together Fine Art Print, The Blue Bird Fine Art Print, Small Emerald Green Necklace

**UPDATE: There’s currently 15% off everything in my Etsy shop (apart from the sale section) from now until the 10th March.**

I’m going to end my post here so that’s all for now. I hope you all have a brilliant week and thanks for reading and following my blog.

Happy, happy Sunday and Chinese New Year everyone! Hope you’re week has been an absolute blast. My folks came down on Friday to visit us so we’ve spent the past two days eating loads of delicious food! We went out last night for some Chinese food to celebrate CNY; it was absolutely jam packed at the restaurant but great to see loads of people having a really good time.

I’ve been on an Etsy mission lately and I’ve been designing load of new stuff in time for spring; I defo feel like my work has moved on and I wanted to make more new pieces of artwork for my shop. Well, it’s an excuse to draw unicorns!

Postcards are now available to buy in my Etsy shop, have a look here.

I’m going to end the post here as I need more coffee right now! Here’s my motto to the start of a new week: I wish you all good health, luck and fortune and may 2018 be a smashing year whatever it may be. Whether it’s achievements big or small keep going and don’t stop learning and growing. Surround yourself with the people you love, spend time with loved ones, always reflect and pause for a minute to appreciate the moment.

Boom!
