Yesterday we were wondering around East London because it was the Open House London event. I had no idea there were so many beautiful buildings; it just goes to show I don’t truly appreciate what’s on offer in London. After visiting the Hoxton Hall (again, a wonderful building full of character) we headed to F Cooke,- a proper pie and mash shop. It’s like being in the 80’s or something and the decor is amazing; I love the long tables and benches too. I had pie and mash with parsley sauce and it was proper tasty! It’s not fussy food- just nice and simple.

I’d defiantly recommend going there if you want a bit of nostalgia and eat traditional English food. All in all, a pretty good day indeed!

I was proper chuffed to be part of Hellohead’s live portrait event on Wednesday 22nd at Cargo, Shoreditch. The event was to raise money for The National Autistic Society– a very good cause indeed. I work with children with autism so it was something which was quite personal to me, hence why I volunteered!

To be honest with you, I was bricking it as I’ve never done anything like this before. I normally draw animals and birds with rosy cheeks so this was out of my comfort zone. It was nerve racking at first, however, after the first portrait I was on a roll and there was even a small number of people waiting for me to draw them! It was really good experience to do quick doodles as I usually spend quite a lot of time on the computer.

I was too busy drawing, drinking and yapping away (ha!) so these are the only photos I took! You can see more photos of the night over at Hellohead’s Facebook Page.

I’ve been meaning to write this post up like ages ago but I’ve been pretty busy at work! Anyway last week I exhibited at Showcase Cities showing new pieces of work all about British wild life. The venue was called Richmix  in Shoreditch and it’s a really nice space.

My friend Fuad also exhibited and it was nice to see a familiar face.It was a proper good night and I would do it all again in the near future! Apologies for the bad photos, I literally came straight from work and so I didn’t fancy carrying my SLR around with me!

Thanks to everyone who came along and my giclee prints are for sale. If you’re interested please contact me at [email protected].

Great night last night at The Meenan Sisters private view down at Vyner Street Gallery. I had a jolly good time catching up with friends and I would like to say well done to all the artists who took part. Oh and also to Ivy who organised everything. Yes, I mean EVERYTHING. So thanks Ivy!!!

The show is running until tomorrow evening so get yourselves down there while you can.

Last night Sam and I went along to Open Doors Private View Exhibition. We were, like, two hours late but our friends were nice enough to wait for us! Oh dear. Anyway our friend Fuad was exhibiting so it was great to see his work along with other super talented artists. Open Doors is a pop-up exhibition based on London boroughs, the current exhibition was based on W12 (yeah the Bush!) I didn’t expect it to be in someones house but I loved it because it felt very cosy and informal.

What I liked about Open Doors is that there’s a sense of community ethos. To see artists getting together and supporting the community, promoting the area, and seeing each artists interpretation of W12 there should be more things like this going on.

Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos because we were pretty late and by that time we said our hi’s and bye’s for the night! But Fuad took loads of photos so you can check them out via his Facebook Fan page here.  Open Doors are on Twitter so make sure to follow them for the lastest news and updates about future events. If they ever pop round to the N4 area well I’m there for sure!

I have another exhibition review to write up but I need a cup of tea now. Have a lovely Saturday peeps!
