Hello! Hope you’re all good despite the rain! This past week has been slightly cray cray (love using that word at the moment). I was a little bit stressed out what with the exhibition and the house moving situation (which is officially happening!), so I’ve been meaning to write up a post about the show but couldn’t find the time until now!

For the past few months there was a slightly lull in terms of organising things; until a month before the show I was emailing blogs to list our exhibition as well as getting my own things ready all at the same time. Needless to say the night before the opening we all came in to put our work up (obligatory action shot photos here):

We had a few things to do before the opening such as getting flyers prepped and the buying the drinks ready to go for the evening; happy to say that all went well and the private view was so much fun! It was great to see everyone again plus we had a giveaway raffle too- messed it up slightly but Emily helped out so it was ok! The biggie prize for the night was two tickets to the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition Show 2016, which the winner wasn’t there by the time we announced it so I had to post it to her the next day.

I really enjoyed curating the show and would love to curate another show in the future. I learnt a lot about myself in terms of organising tasks effectively, time management, keeping communication lines open plus delegating tasks to others as sometimes I lack confidence in that area.

For now though there’s no rest for us as we’re moving next weekend so we have loads of stuff to pack and get rid of! I can put my feet up and do nothing once we’ve moved, which I’m super excited about. I’ll keep you all updated about it (maybe even photos included too!)

What a hectic/manic week! On Monday night I dropped off my work at A-side B-side GalleryHackney Downs Studios– for the House of Tigers exhibition; leaving Adam, who curated the show, and a few of this other friends to paint the walls (sorry folks!).

Anyway, Thursday’s Private View was amazing! The turn out was incredible and the whole place was buzzing with people admiring the artworks and getting to talk to the other 30 plus artists.

Adam and his friends did a fantastic job of curating the show; everyone’s work really complimented one another as the artworks were all spread out across the space rather than your typical linear layout (see below).

June and I posing next to her artwork!

My friend June Sees was also part of the show and here we both are standing next to her beautiful artwork of a sleeping tiger and rabbit with a lovely bamboo frame.

I had a wonderful evening talking to friends, getting to know the other artists and then we headed off to the pub for a burger. And more beer.

Pretty good night indeed!

House of Tigers will be running until Tuesday 27th October.

This month I’ve been pretty busy with work and so it’s been great to be able to do shows just to break things up a little bit.

I’m part of ‘House of Tigers’ exhibition at A-Side B-Side Gallery! Super stoked to be part of an awesome show for a great cause, Save Wild Tigers, as well.

The private view will be on Thursday 22nd October and the show will run from the 22nd until the 27th.

Show Dates: 23-10-2015 – 26-10-2015

A-side B-side Gallery is pleased to present, ‘House of Tigers’ an exhibition curated by Adam Bartlett:

“The show came about through my love of tigers and painting them.  I thought it would be great to raise some money for our stripy friends, curate my first show and provide a platform for many artists who don’t get to show their work out much due to full time jobs etc.  Kind of bringing everyone great and small together, the emphasis is on fun with this show and getting involved in any way you can.”

HOTWEB

Hello! I hope you’ve all been enjoying the sun and the glorious weather that we’ve been having over the past couple of days. I’ve had a rather hectic few days what with the run up to the show and another show I’m taking part in, which starts on the 1st July at W3 Gallery in Acton (more on that later in the week).

I have to say that the group exhibition ‘Into The Sun’ at A-side B-side Gallery has been really successful especially the private view. Sadly, I didn’t take any photos that night but I have managed to take some photos today when I was invigilating the show.

Firstly, here are my pieces for the show: ‘Luna’ and ‘Sol’.

Whilst I was invigilating, I got the chance to speak to people about the show and my work as well. It was great to be able to connect with others about my interpretation of the theme itself. I think Ivy has done a fantastic job on curating the show and putting together the show so I’d just like to say a big fat thank you to Ivy for all of her hard work! I love the space too; light, airy and it’s not too big and not too small either.

The show is running until Tuesday 30th so get yourselves down to the gallery if you’ve still not seen it!

Into The Sun

I’ve been pretty busy over the past few weeks as I’ve been preparing new work for two upcoming exhibitions.

The first one will be running from the 25th until the 20th of June. I’ll be exhibiting two new pieces of work for ‘Into the Sun’ exhibition, organised by artist Ivy Mei. The private viewing will be on Thursday 25th June at A-side B-side Gallery, Hackney Downs Studio.

Come by and say hello to us all! For more information about the group show please visit the Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1451097908528392/

The gallery’s opening times are as follows:

Thursday: 12-5pm and 7-9pm

Friday-Monday 12-6pm.

All other times must be arranged via an appointment.

Hopefully I’ll see you there!
