Hello lovely folks and happy October! I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I’ve posted anything. I’ve been updating my Etsy shop and I’m getting ready for Christmas (already…??!!), in the midst of Covid-19 life has been relatively normal to say the least. I’ve been reading the news about it pretty much everyday and it seems like the UK is heading for another lockdown… 2020 you’ve been an absolutely rubbish year you can do one! 😤

I have also been feeling demotivated about making new artwork, not sure if it’s the weather or that the days are getting shorter but I haven’t made anything new since August. Instead, I’ve been taking the time to read lots of books, listening to podcast, binging on Nigel Ng’s videos (Uncle Roger is HILARIOUS!) and we’ve been watching quite a lot of sci-fi films too.

In saying that though I’ve recently been looking at Tibetan artwork especially the representations of tigers. I love the exaggerated eyes and body sizes, there’s something quite magical in the portrayal of tigers. ‘Flying Tiger’ pays homage to Kenzo’s tiger print called ‘flying tiger’ (just look it up online and you’ll know what I mean). It’s one of my favourite prints from them and they did a different colour way a while ago.

‘Flying Tiger’ is available as an A4 and A3 in my Etsy and Folksy shop.

Update: I also made another artwork inspired by Tibetan tigers now available as a print in my Urban Makers shop:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! So today it’s Chinese New Year or otherwise known as the Lunar New Year. What we usually do when it comes to celebrate this rather important date in the Chinese calendar is that we eat traditional Chinese food with friends and families, exchange and open lei sees (otherwise known as red envelopes) and there are dancing Chinese dragons/lions too. I remember when I was younger we’d used to eat Chinese sweets which came in a rather beautiful containers with divided segments for the individual sweets. We used to spend Chinese New Year in Hong Kong when were we younger, which was all the more a special occasion as we’d only see our families maybe once a year. I remember we would open up or lei sees and light up paper lanterns in the evening, followed by loads of delicious food of course! There’s really no getting away with food.

This year it’s the Year of the Rat so to celebrate this rather special little creature I have made a print which is now available in my Etsy, Folksy and Urban Makers shop.

Well, I’m going to end it here. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and take care.

Hello everyone! How’s your week been so far? I’ve added a new piece of work to my Etsy shop titled: ‘What a Time to be Alive’ available in two sizes: A4 and A3 size.

My most recent work has been the influence of self-care, mindfulness and positivity. I’m hoping that my art will spread some joy in these dark times we’re currently living in right now. The world can seem like a very bleak place especially when you’re reading the news and you’re constantly bombarded with sad and awful news.

I’m going to end it here as I’m going to go back to my sketchbook and do some drawings for the rest of the afternoon. Look after yourselves and enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Hello lovely readers!

Just to let you all  know that I’m going to be away for a couple of days as we’re going camping in the Netherlands, so my Etsy shop will be closed. Yes, that’s right! We’re going all out and we’re going to have a mini adventure and go on walks, explore new places, camp on the fire (who loves baked bananas??!!) and I’m all geared up for it. I bought myself a fancy Berghaus hiking backpack as my Nike bag makes my back proper sweaty- gross I know.

Lots of photos of the Netherland will be posted here once I get back. Oh, and any recommendations as to what to do, see, eat, drink, visit etc. please leave a reply in the comments section. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.

Have a lovely week everyone and take care!
