Hello everyone! How’s your Platty Jubes weekend been going? In no way am I a Royalist, but, it’s been pretty nice having a four day bank holiday weekend. I’ve spent this week catching up with my friends and squeezing in the prenatal yoga when I have the time. I’m trying to have some sort of schedule each day for it, but me being in holiday-mode, I’ve been super lazy! It’ll be nine weeks until the baby is due, so I’ve been washing loads of baby clothes and getting his things sorted out. I want to paint his room at some point (or get Sam/friend/kind person) to do it as I’ve been looking at paint colours online (yes, I’m defo in nesting mode now).

Just to let you all know that my summer sale is now live on my Etsy, Folksy and Urban Makers shops. I will close all my shops at the end of the month as I want to spend July taking it easy, getting all the sleep I’ll need- basically, I want to be chilled out as much as possible and not have to worry about customer’s orders being out on time or swearing at my printer because it’s not doing its thing.

With that being said, it almost feels like it’s an end of an era but in a good way. We are both starting a brand new chapter in our lives; one where we’ll get no sleep for the next five years haha. Seriously though, the thought of closing my shops is like saying goodbye to illustration- do you know what I mean? For the last ten years or so illustration has been a massive part of my life. Even though it’s something that hasn’t turned out to be full-time (didn’t really expect it to be like that until I entered full-time work in something else) it has stayed with me side by side. Now it’s like letting that part of me go and life changing event is stepping into our lives. I’m getting really deep here lol but it’s better to be open here than on Instagram.

I will end it here on a positive note because I am looking forward to being a parent- bring it on! Wishing you all a fab weekend however it may look like.

Hello lovely readers and I hope you’ve all had a seemingly nice start to December (TBF, the past couple of months have felt the same lol). I feel like I’m in Groundhog Day where everyday is a constant loop, so I don’t know if it’s just the shorter days but I was definitely feeling quite low a few weeks ago. The Coronavirus has certainly changed the way we interact with one another and our day to day lives- despite the vaccine coming very soon, I am hopeful that we will soon resume to some sense of normality one day. I miss going to museums and art galleries and seeing live shows, I have been craving the simple things I took for granted like going to the pub for instance after work. Of course I can still do all of that but it’s more of the extra planning like booking tables ahead of time, registering your details to the restaurants, choosing which sets of friends to see etc. Oh my god, it’s just too much social admin for me!

About a week ago I created ‘You are the Brightest Star in the Universe’, some much needed positive affirming words which I think we all need to hear right now.

The print is available as an A4 and A3 print in my Etsy, Folksy and Urban Makers shops. I’ll be closing my shops during the Christmas period from Saturday 18th December – Saturday 1st January 2021.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and take care.

Hi Friends!

Hope you’re all keeping well. I spent the last few days designing some new Christmas cards which will be available in my Etsy, Folksy and Urban Makers shop very soon.

The cards will come in a pack of five and they’re blank inside for you to write your own personal message. Who knows what this Christmas will look like, whether we’ll be able to spend Christmas together or if it’ll be a Zoom Christmas Day? For now though, keep in touch with your loved ones by sending them a Christmas card.

I’ll also be adding some more new A5 postcards too so I’ll keep you all updated about it.

Stay safe and thanks for reading!

UPDATE: New Christmas cards are now available in my Etsy shop!

Hello lovely folks and happy October! I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I’ve posted anything. I’ve been updating my Etsy shop and I’m getting ready for Christmas (already…??!!), in the midst of Covid-19 life has been relatively normal to say the least. I’ve been reading the news about it pretty much everyday and it seems like the UK is heading for another lockdown… 2020 you’ve been an absolutely rubbish year you can do one! 😤

I have also been feeling demotivated about making new artwork, not sure if it’s the weather or that the days are getting shorter but I haven’t made anything new since August. Instead, I’ve been taking the time to read lots of books, listening to podcast, binging on Nigel Ng’s videos (Uncle Roger is HILARIOUS!) and we’ve been watching quite a lot of sci-fi films too.

In saying that though I’ve recently been looking at Tibetan artwork especially the representations of tigers. I love the exaggerated eyes and body sizes, there’s something quite magical in the portrayal of tigers. ‘Flying Tiger’ pays homage to Kenzo’s tiger print called ‘flying tiger’ (just look it up online and you’ll know what I mean). It’s one of my favourite prints from them and they did a different colour way a while ago.

‘Flying Tiger’ is available as an A4 and A3 in my Etsy and Folksy shop.

Update: I also made another artwork inspired by Tibetan tigers now available as a print in my Urban Makers shop:

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
