The countdown begins. It’s about 4 months until we’re getting married- GAH! ‘Gah’ in a good way of course, the days and weeks are speeding ahead so quickly I can’t get my head around it. I thought I’d try and be super organised so I only bought myself a rather lovely diary from Anthropolgie (on the sale as well!).

So the next thing on my to-do list (along with a billion other things on our list) is what type of hair style and hair accessories to go for- not sure what sort of hair accessories to go for as I’m wanting to buying something I’ll treasure forever. I’ve been looking at Gucci, Valentino, Christian Dior and Reem Acra for hair inspiration, yup you’ve guessed it, it’s all about the flowers right now. I want to go for a look that’s slightly over the top and not your average wedding-look if you know what I mean.

I want my hair slightly up, loose, nothing too fancy but with LOADS of accessories all over my hair. So I’ve playing around with a couple of ideas when I’ve been looking at bridal hair accessories, see below for an illustrated guide!

Thanks so much for reading, as always, and I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. I’m going to commit to buying one of the above at some point. Of course, all will be revealed on the big day!

Have a lovely day!

Happy Saturday everyone! We made it through the week! I hope you’re all having a chilled out weekend, or if you’re me, looking up Christmas presents (love doing it right at the last minute). It’s great just to have the weekend to myself as the last couple of weeks have been proper full on, it’s amazing what a couple of days of doing nothing can do for you. I was completely burnt out at work this week due to stress and anxiety. It was pretty unpleasant as I was completely overwhelmed and exhausted by everything, I couldn’t even focus in the morning so I had to go home. It just goes to show that it’s so important to be mindful: you need to take care of yourself, listen to your body and take time over things. In light of this, I’m going to take it easy either by cutting my hours there and start to think about myself more. I follow quite a lot of artists on Instagram and I’ve seen some rather poignant posts about self-care: nourishing your body and mind and slowing down.

In other news, I’m taking part in Blue House Yard’s Christmas Market this year. I did it last year and it was really good- I met loads of people throughout the day and it’s lovely just to chat to people: some who live locally or those passing by. Either way, I stepped up my game this afternoon and designed two new Christmas cards (see below) and redesigned a couple of old ones from a few years ago. There’ll be two collections of cards this year, which I’ve never done before, but I thought it’d be nice to offer some more designs to customers or if they wanted to buy some separately then they can.

More details about the market can be found either on my Facebook page or alternatively you can visit their Facebook page here as well.

Have a great weekend everyone and look after yourself.

I’m very pleased to announce that two of my illustrations are part of Ink+Paper‘s postcard art subscription package. My good friend Junesees is also part of it as well, which I’m absolutely delighted to be showcasing work alongside her.

Ink+Paper is run by Hannah Stewart: she recently go in touch with me asking me if I’d like to be part of Ink+Paper, I said yes of course! I submitted ‘Swans’ and ‘Wonderland’ as the two illustrations complimented one another. So how does it work? You simply subscribe to it and for £10 (every two months) you’ll receive 5 beautifully printed out A6 postcards including envelopes- all of which are printed on the highest quality of paper.

What are you waiting for?

Hello folks!

I’m not sure about you, but I’m loving the weather we’re having right now. All this sun is making want to wear summer dresses and hang out in our garden all day long! We’re currently planning our wedding (hooray!!!!) as well as a road trip around Europe in the next couple of weeks- will defo be writing up about it when we get back from it. I’m in the midst of designing the invites and other things that come along with a wedding, unfortunately I can’t reveal anything as of yet since we need to get the ‘save the dates’ sent out.

This is going to be a short but sweet post: I designed some posters for my friend Amy who has a gig going in New York. I created two images that reflected her work, personality and summer vibes all round.

Happy summer days everyone! Hope you’re all enjoying the sun wherever you are!

Oh, hello there! I’m not sure whether it’s weird to wish people a Happy New Year now that January has flown by, but I suppose it’d be rude not to right?!  I’ve not updated my blog in a while as I’ve been pretty busy lately (ooops, poor blog!). I’ve been designing some greeting cards for my Etsy shop as this year my main focus is to produce artwork for specific occasions and age ranges. I would also like to combine more text with my artwork too as this is one area I really struggle with. Below are some new designs which I’ll get printed out very soon. I’m in the process of designing some more cards, these ones will be more ‘grown-up’ in that they’ll be for occasions like weddings, new born babies, sorry cards etc. It’s pretty exciting having all these ideas in my head which I’m itching to get them down into my sketchbook!

This set of cards is all about celebrations so I decided to go along the theme of animals; at the moment I’ve got quite an obsession with drawing Mario and I’m pleased to say he’s made the cut!

This next set of cards is influenced by life events so I wanted simple text to compliment the illustration, hence good old Futura to the rescue. I decided to go for something a little bit more abstract looking as I didn’t want your standard/default ‘congrats’ card. Be it a positive or a difficult moment, I hope that these cards inspire and motivate the giver and the receiver.

I would also appreciate feedback for my cards as this will inform me in the way I work and how I can improve on the designs e.g. is the font right, are the words appropriate for the occasion, does the image compliment the text or not etc.

Well, I better get cracking with the next range of cards. I’ll be posting them here so keep your eyes out for them! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and take care.
